UPI’s Voice Tryst
A prime example is the UPI SoundBox, which vocally announces payment confirmations to merchants. This simple yet powerful innovation reverses the traditional human-to-machine interaction: Instead of merchants checking their phones for payment notifications, the machine proactively communicates with humans through voice.
This shift from visual to auditory confirmation serves multiple purposes. It allows merchants to maintain eye contact with customers, reduces transaction friction, and provides instant verification without device handling.
